REMEMBRANCE OF GREAT PEOPLE/ LEFT FOOTPRINT OF GREAT PEOPLE/ GREAT PEOPLE – BIG FOOTPRINTS

The circle was chosen as the main shape. It symbolizes the eternity, the beginning and the end of everything.

Human shoe’s imprints, which symbolize imaginary person, are shaped in the center of circle.

It’s like a respectable human imprint on the history of Jonava. The circle forms the personal space of great man. The nearby visitors have the opportunity to feel this space. It is proposed to turn feet to the other side of Neris quay – it is a green space on the summertime. We seek to give peace and concentration sense for visitors, who stand in the imaginary circle of great people.

The memorial is formed of two circles: the first – pavement level (radius – 4 meters), the second – 30 centimeters above the ground (radius – 2 meters).

The names of respectable man are incised in the granite following the shape of circle. At night the imprints of shoes function as illuminators.

The cover of memorial is granite. The surrounding pathways are made from cube.
